A brief overview of Ben Boyd Guesthouse and its owner Rick Carey Ben Boyd Guesthouse is situated in the pretty village of Bibbenluke 13 km’s north of Bombala.  It overlooks the paddocks of the Monaro, set in ornamental gardens this modern but colonial type building boasts beautiful surrounds, 4large bedrooms, a large lounge room with cathedral ceilings, open fires and French doors opening onto a sheltered veranda, just made for watching the sunset and taking in the quiet of the country.

Bibbenluke has a rich history, the name actually means “The Big Lookout” a name used by the indigenous people who first lived in this region.  During European settlement the place was called Bibbenluke Station and had strong ties with Ben Boyd one of the famous entrepreneurs of the region.  Ben Boyd had a strong association with whaling and grazing cattle from Eden to the Monaro and his legacy lives on in Ben Boyd National Park, 1 hour away, and Boyd’s Tower near Greencape.

The Coast is less than an hour away down the Mt Darragh Road; this road has to be the best fun for a biker in southern NSW, 60 kms of sweeping constant radius corners through native rain forest, for the Mick Doohan in all of us.
The NSW ski fields and ski tube are only 90 minutes away and this offers skiers a cheaper and more pleasant alternative to staying closer to the snow, it can take 90 mins in traffic to reach Perisher staying in Jindabyne.  Using ski tube you can be skiing in less than 2 hours after leaving Bibbenluke and no traffic or park gates.  We guarantee you will enjoy the experience of staying in Bibbenluke so escape the city for a couple of days and come visit the “Big Lookout”
