Do Not Worry
Alot of misinformation is circulating regarding Council's decision to allow on road advertising.
The facts are:
1. The prime site is the swimming pool car park
2. All other sites are off the main road and in areas of only 50-60 km per hour eg outside the Council offices where the majority of both 2 and 4 wheeled vehicles are slowing down anyway
3. The logos which are applied to the road surface are only down for a short space of time - no more than a month generally only a couple of weeks
4. At any one time we are only anticipating 4 logos to be on our road surfaces and two of these would be in the swimming pool car park
5. The logos are not large enough to allow both wheels of a bike to be on them at the same time
Ride of the Month
Bombala to Cann River. Duration of ride 96kms, about an hour without stops
About the ride. This ride takes you through typical monaro countryside - rolling treeless plains, mountain and escarpement views - has good curves and consists of mainly down hill riding with good stopping points right along the ride.
Leaving Bombala you are travelling in a southerly direction towards Cann River via the Monaro Highway. The mainly down hill ride travels through typical farming country and then into pine plantations and then the South East Forests National Parks and the Coopracambra National park. Approaching Cann River you are again travelling through farming country this time mainly cattle/dairy farming country.
A stop off in Cann River has everything you want. Wine tasting and fine dining at the Noorinbee Selection Vineyards, Winery, Restrauant and Art Gallery. Fabulous pies at Shortty's Little Pie Shop or perhaps an icy cold beer at the Cann river Hotel.
If you need an overnight stay then either the Cann River Hop Inn Motor Inn, Cann River Caravan Park or the Cann river Hotel will be able to help you out.
Once in Cann River call into the Visitors Information Centre Princes Highway Cann River 03 51586465 for local information.
